Mayor's Welcome Message

I am delighted to welcome our citizens and other members of the public to our Murrieta City Government page. I hope you will become familiar with the City Website and learn to utilize all of the tools that are provided to help connect the public with our great City.

It is an honor and a privilege for me to serve as the Mayor during 2019. While I realize that the title of Mayor in Murrieta doesn’t wield any special powers or come with any more authority than any other council members, it is a great opportunity to help foster a culture of political leadership in our community that helps our citizens be heard, that enables our City workers to proudly serve the community, and one that helps inspire our Council to do everything we possibly can to help guide this City to be the type of City that everyone can be proud to call home.

The next year promises to be a busy but fulfilling year of moving our community forward. We will start the year off with a goal setting session that will lay out the foundation for accomplishing the many quality of life issues that our citizens are concerned about most. Public Safety, road maintenance and traffic mitigation, the condition of our greenbelts and parks, our recreational activities and bolstering our future financial stability are all important issues that will be discussed as we move forward. We will use the Measure T funds made possible by our voters in November to accomplish what we promised we would use them for.

In short, we want every person that lives here in Murrieta to thoroughly enjoy living here.  To accomplish that, we will work with our citizens and our staff to identify problems, create solutions, and maintain our transparency so citizens will feel connected to their community. Murrieta is a great city with much to offer. We will always strive to make improvements that will ultimately improve the quality of life of everyone.

Great Cities are a reflection of great citizens that live in them. With your constructive suggestions, we can all work together as a team to keep building upon our already great community. Please don’t hesitate to contact any of your council members to share your ideas and concerns.

Thanks again for taking the time to visit with us.
